The Poodle Named Oodle is the star of two Children’s books, Introducing The Poodle Named Oodle and American Adventures: The Poodle Named Oodle. She is a Toy Poodle, but mostly human. She overwhelms any cuteness scale and is a magnet for people of all ages. She has two sisters, Gigi and Lucy. Gigi is a Minature Poodle and Lucy is a Yorkshire Terrier.
The Poodle Named Oodle's mom and dad, Nyomi and Paul Pfeffer produced all the words and pictures. Sam Hockaday edited the pictures.
Nyomi is an award winning musician, entrepreneur, and educator. Ms. Pfeffer loves teaching, children, and dogs. In addition to her own studio, she teaches clarinet and piano at Creative Music Center in Monroe, and has taught K-4 in Connecticut. In all venues, she has experienced first hand the excitement of learning and mastery. Nyomi won national recognition for exceptional artistic merit from the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts. Nyomi earned her B.S. in Psychology and Masters in Education from Sacred Heart University. The Poodle Named Oodle book series is dedicated to Nyomi and Paul’s children, Jason and Matthew.
Paul is an Emmy award winning television writer, producer, videographer, director, documentarian and educator. Paul was instrumental in envisioning, technical and programmatic planning, building, staffing and financially sustaining two amazing innovations, the CPBN Media Lab, to create a virtuous circle of content producing and instructional talent and the Learning Lab, the first school inside a public media station in the United States to serve high school, college, veterans and adult learners and create Emmy and Student Awards for Excellence winning productions. Career highlights include his promotion for Barney & Friends, which drove the most successful launch of a children's program in the history of Public Television and the Silver Circle Lifetime Achievement Award for educating generations of media students from the Boston/New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Paul earned his B.A. in English from Central Connecticut State University.
